Peter De Luca - Board Chair

A managing partner in Tompkins Wake, Lawyers, in Hamilton specializing in Company Law and commercial/business law acting for a wide cross section of businesses in both public and private companies across a broad range of industries and sectors Peter brings substantial board level experience to Magic. As a director his first role was to develop the new constitution for the Company.  He is currently Chairman on a number of Company Boards' within the Waikato and the Bay of Plenty and is one of the four independent Board Directors.

Jo Bailey (Retired) - Directors
The General Manager for the Waikato Institute for Leisure and Sport Studies in Hamilton, Jo is well known as an advocate of training in sport working with SFRITO. She comes from the home of Sting and plans to retire there. Jo is another of the independent directors who has been very involved in the Royal New Zealand Aero Club Association as a volunteer.

John Gillespie
A principal in the Matamata accounting firm Candy Gillespie John brings a vast amount of knowledge and understanding of the amateur and professional directions sport is taking from his time on both the Waikato Rugby Union and Chiefs Franchise Boards'. John's administrative experience in sport has also extended to golf, cricket, and racing. Another of the independent directors John can claim that he had one year as a netball coach of a Matamata Intermediate School Team.

Monica Leggat
Monica's name is synonymous with netball having been the Netball New Zealand President and a NZ Board Member for a number of years. A Life Member of Netball New Zealand and Netball Waikato, Monica is one of the two representatives for the Waikato Region. Her contribution to the game has been from the grassroots level to the top, whether it be managing the control of games at Saturday netball or looking after the dignitaries at netball events.

Alan Livingston
The Mayor of Waipa is one of the two Waikato representatives on the Board. The initiator of the Waipa Weekend pre season event Alan is instrumental in a number of events being drawn to the Waipa District including the World Rowing Champs.The Trust Waikato Te Awamutu Events Centre has given Alan the opportunity to draw together sport and business for the benefit of all.

Jos McEntee (Retired)
One of the Netball Bay of Plenty representatives on the Board, Jos led the implementation of the new Board structure and constitution. She brings a strong background in netball and business and was noted for leading the restructure of the Harbourside Netball Centre and Netball Bay of Plenty. Jos is currently the National Business Manager for Go Gecko and her role has been very much involved in leading the set up of the new franchises around the country.

Cathryn Reid (Retired)
The other of the two Bay of Plenty representatives, she has also been involved as Board Chair for Netball Bay of Plenty and prior to that was a Board Director which she has returned to because of her involvement in the manufacturing business Numedic Limited in Rotorua. Cathryn has been a netball volunteer for many years including managing age group representative teams.

Ken Williamson
Ken is an independent director who is a principal with LMW Insurance. He has an oustanding record of community involvement in the Waikato with the McKenzie Charitable Trust, the Order of St John, and the Scottwood and Castle Charitable Trusts to name but a few. He is also a director on a number of company boards.
