martinMartin Ellis - CEO

Born and bred in the Waikato, Martin completed his education at Waikato University completing a Bachelor of Management Studies degree in 1992. Over the next 15 years Martin worked in Auckland, firstly in the accounting and finance field for a multinational manufacturer of large food processing equipment - before moving onto Sleepyhead – New Zealand’s iconic bedding manufacturer.

Martin started with Sleepyhead in 2000 as Chief Financial Officer and moved into the Chief Executive role in 2002. In 2007 Martin, his wife Jane and their two children Morgan and Cody decided to move to Te Awamutu – with Martin taking up a new job with the Waikato Rugby Union (WRU). As part of this role the WRU have contracted Martins services to A1GP World Cup of Motor sport (as their Operations Manager) and the new CEO of the Waikato/Bay of Plenty Magic Netball franchise.
 
Personally Martin loves spending time with family and friends and enjoys all sports. He is an Associate Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Management and also holds ACA status with the New Zealand Institute of Charted Accountants.
