Player Profile
Joline Henry
Positions: GD, GK, GA, GS.
Well ensconced as one of the veterans, Joline Henry, 25, is an integral member of the Magic set-up. Now into her eighth year with the franchise after spending two years with the Western Flyers while still a schoolgirl in Wanganui, Henry has become a standout performer in recent years. A versatile player, Henry can play both ends of the court but in recent years has made her mark as a defender which culminated in initial selection to the Silver Ferns in 2004. After some early hiccups, Henry has gone on to cement her spot in the Silver Ferns where she demonstrates a keen perception for the finer arts of what makes the consummate defender. Speed and flair combined with good aerial skills and determination make Henry a quality player. Initially moving to the Waikato area for study reasons, Henry is currently engaged in a post-graduate Diploma in Community Psychology and hopes this year to emerge as a registered psychologist. ``I think what separates Waikato/Bay of Plenty Magic from the rest is the culture we have here and such a fostering environment,’’ she said. ``Hopefully, I can continue to step up and give to the team what it has given me the last six to seven years.’’
