Cold Power Magic Turn Focus To New Zealand Conference Final

"It was certainly our strongest performance of the year, but we can definitely build on it and we'll find things we can improve on," - that's Cold Power Magic coach Julie Fitzgerald's assessment as the team now turns it's focus towards Sunday's ANZ Championship New Zealand Conference Final following yesterday's win.

While a return to the stating line-up of a fit Grace Rasmussen was always expected yesterday, starts for Ellen Halpenny and Courtney Tairi turned out to be astute calls by Fitzgerald.

"We're rewarding form on court and rewarding form in training.

"I changed my mind during the week (about who would start) and obviously all the players have got to continue to work hard to get a spot on the court and that's a great situation to be in.

"I've also got to say, I've never been in a team that's more supportive of their team-mates in terms of who's on and who's off either."

The Cold Power Magic take on the Ascot Park Hotel Southern Steel in the New Zealand Conference Final on Sunday in Invercargill at 4:00pm.  Tickets are on sale now through TicketDirect.
