Over a hundred children from the Bay came to participate in the ANZfutureFERNS festival in Rotorua on Sunday 30th July.
Sam Sinclair and Erena Mikaere made a lengthy appearance and were joining in with the games and offering coaching tips throughout the day.
The children were placed in age specific groups and rotated through a range of netball stations including a game court. Lots of smiles, netball skills and photos with the performance players, Basil the Mother Earth squirrel, and Monzee the ANZfutureFERNS mascot, made this a good day for all involved.
Many thanks to the volunteers from Rotorua Netball Centre and Hone, our MC for the day.
These events simply can’t run without you and your expertise in different areas was intrinsic to the success of the day.
Please look out for the festival next year. It’s a great opportunity for the young players to interact with some of their role models.
See you there.
