Introduction Workshops for Umpire Coaches are Underway
On Sunday 26 March 6 new Umpire Coaches from Cluster 2 attended the Introductory Coach Assessor Workshop at Otorohanga Netball Centre. Under the guidance of Marrianne Walton, a NWBOP trained facilitator, these new Umpire Coaches covered Umpire Centre Learning: what the role of the coach, assessor and mentor looks like; coaching terminology; how to analyse an umpire’s performance and post-match discussion between the umpire and the coach.
One of the WBOP key priorities in 2017 is to have more qualified umpires and another is to then ensure we have more accredited umpire coaches to assist these umpires in their development. Well done to all of those who were part of this workshop.
