Head Coach Mary-Jane Araroa says investing in the right people around the athletes has been a deliberate priority heading into the new season.
This year, Magic has successfully attracted a group of highly experienced performance professionals to enhance the expertise and support surrounding our Head Coach and athletes.
“Our environment is everything. The quality of support we provide off the court directly shapes what we deliver on it,” Araroa said.
“I’m excited by the calibre and experience within our Support Team this year. They have already added real value through their energy, expertise and willingness to lean in — not only in supporting me across key performance areas, but in setting and driving standards within their own portfolios.
“This group brings professionalism, alignment and genuine care for our athletes. They challenge thinking, strengthen accountability and create consistency across the programme. That cohesion is critical as we build momentum toward 2026.”
The team provides specialist expertise across match analysis, physical preparation, mental performance and performance operations, creating an integrated support system that underpins every element of player preparation, execution and recovery.
From injury prevention and rehabilitation to strength development, nutrition strategy and mindset coaching, the collective focus is clear: develop durable, confident athletes capable of meeting the demands of the ANZ Premiership season.
With pre-season underway, the strengthened management group is central to fostering a high-performance environment where wellbeing, discipline and excellence operate side by side.
