Macron apparel will step into the netball market when they enter a multi-year agreement with the Splice Construction Magic as their new apparel partner.

The leading Italian brand, Macron, will supply on and off court kit for the Magic when they suit up for the 2022 ANZ Premiership as well as merchandise for their fans.

Magic General Manager Gary Dawson said they were excited to be teaming up with Macron as their teamwear supplier.

“Macron is a respected international apparel company and we’re delighted they have chosen the Magic to expand into the sport of netball,” he said.

“This is an exciting partnership with a company who shares a similar focus in terms of quality and supporting the sporting community. Macron is well known for being heavily involved with international rugby and football, so we feel proud they have joined us and our sport for 2022 and beyond.”

Dawson said the Magic’s dress for the 2022 ANZ Premiership had already been designed and they couldn’t wait to share it with their loyal fans when New Zealand’s elite domestic league begins next month.

Macron is an Italian sporting apparel company, founded in 1971, and is considered a European leader in the production of active sportswear. It began providing teamwear to professional football in 2001 with its expansion beyond the domestic Italian market beginning in 2005. Macron now provides teamwear to sports including football, basketball, rugby, baseball, and volleyball.

New Zealand Macron Agent David Mays said they were looking forward to expanding and entering the netball market with Magic.

“The Magic has a rich history in New Zealand netball – they are a highly respected and successful team, and we’re pleased to be taking these steps into the sport of netball with them,” he said.

The Magic athletes and staff have been amazing at guiding our team on what netball athletes require from a garment,  these insights will enable Macron to create the perfect products for the netball world, this is an exciting partnership.

“We are looking forward to bringing the Magic under our professional portfolio and, just like the fans, we can’t wait to see them wearing our brand in one of netball’s toughest leagues.”

The Magic will unveil their new dress in the coming weeks ahead of their opening ANZ Premiership match against the defending champion Mystics at Claudelands Arena in Hamilton on 13 March.
